For 2nd law of motion,while catching a fast moving cricket ball,fielder in the ground gradually pulls his hands backward with moving ball.in this case rate of momentum decreases ,time increases and the player will hurt less.

For 3rd law of motion when the bullet is fired from the gun then the force is applied by the bullet but the gun also moves backward.as it is a reaction force
