The majestic gates opened to the swarm of people who poured into the fairground. As I’m engulfed into the crowd, I can hear children laughing, others in the rides screaming and some blood curdling cries too! I inch towards the nearest wall, the one close to the rides and can feel the old, rusty metal and can listen to the metals clanging against each other. The bright, flashing lights blind me, keeping me hooked to my spot. The fair is a myriad of colors! With the dazzling lights that flash and flicker, the rides fast accelerating, and the rich scents of food wafting through the air.
The whiff of cotton candy is smelt- the sweet caramelized smell flavored with some strawberry, and when it melts in your mouth, yummy! I head over to the stall to be greeted by a plump, cheery man and get a cute, sweet confection, gathered around that thin stick.
On the other side of the fair, I could hear bumper cars smashing into each other and the drivers giggling non-stop. How fun it must be.
Floating in the air, the Ferris wheel was like a bracelet, rolling round and round; the water slides, like several twisted loops of string and the cable cars, like tiny flying marbles.
I was feeling so feathery, my heart was in my throat, my hands trembled and clutched the handles for dear life and as all of this was happening, I fixed a big, confident smile, just like the many other passengers!
As the ride started, I heard my heart thumping, and the adrenaline pumps up. It suddenly takes up into the air, causing my hair to go haywire! In just about 5 seconds or so, the only thing I successfully manage is screaming, so all I do is just scream.
About a minute later we are back down; me, just tired from screaming my lungs out, and the others, crying their eyes out! I cautiously get down and head to the center of the fairground, and out of the blue, am surrounded by stilted men!
The stilted men beckoned me over to the food stalls, all laden with delicious food which was sure to empty my pocket. I forced my eyes to turn away and to the other stalls, the games! I have never had and I still do not have a knack for games, but what's wrong with trying?
I strolled over to the nearest games stall and found myself being shoved a loop. Oh..so I have to put a loop on some random toy? Cool! The ring was to be thrown over some toy that I would like and if it does fall over it, it's mine! I tried once, no success, twice, close enough, thrice, and I have won! I stand in pride looking over between the stall keeper and that cute little puppy soft toy, as though asking him when I’ll get it. With a slight nod, the stall keeper hands my prize over and beckons me to go as others are waiting too.
With a smug look on my face, I saunter over to the gates and run home to showcase my achievement to my parents. Oh! How wonderful a day it was!
Hope it helps :) (I'm an IGCSE student and this was assessed so I'm guessing this should be fine for a quick view)
