Give examples of organisms who show heterotrophic nutrition

Humans and giraffes and other mammals are examples of heterotrophs. We have to ingest our food whole. Unlike a plant, which can synthesize its energy from the earth it is rooted to and the sunshine. So, FOOD is the answer. Proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, as we commonly call them. These can vary by species, as to type and method of ingesting, but yeah. Autotrophs like plants and fungi don’t need to ‘eat’.
