4) 4th Generation of computer
5) 5th Generation of computer

1st Generation computer had vaccum tubes.
E.g.- UNIVAC, ENIAC

2nd Generation computer had transistors.
E.g.- IBM 1401, Honeywell 400

3rd generation computers had developed integrated circuit.
E.g.- IBM 360, ICL 2900

4th generation computers was developed using microprocessorand used VLSI (Very Large Scale Integrated) circuit technology.
E.g.- PDP 11, DEC 10

5th generation computers are based on the artificial intelligence. Todays computers are based on this technology.
E.g.- Dell inspiron.

1. 1st generations of computers(1942 - 1955)

(a) Based on vacuum tubes.

(b) Examples are UNIVAC-1.


2. 2nd generation of computers(1955 - 1964).

(a) Based on Transistors.

(b) Examples are IBM 7094 series.


3. 3rd generation of computers(1965 - 1975).

(a) Based on Integrated circuits.

(b) Examples are IBM 370.


4. 4th generation of computers(1975-present)

(a) Based on VLSI.

(b) Examples are Apple Macintosh.


5. 5th generation computers(Present - beyond)
