1. An automobile moves forward because of the force exerted on it by the ground, which is the reaction to the force exerted on the ground by the tyres.

2.The 3rd law of motion can also be illustrated when a sailor jumps out of a rowing boat. As the sailor jumps forward the force on the boat moves it backwards. Hence boats are tied to poles on the shore before persons are unloaded.

3. A bird flies forwards by exerting a force on the air but it is the air pishing back on the birds wings that propels the bird forward.

4. We walk forward because the ground pushes forward on our feet when our feet pushes backwards against the ground.
