Transmission is the act of transferring something from one spot to another, like a radio or TV broadcast, or a disease going from one person to another.

The noun transmission comes from the Latin word transmissio, which means “sending over or across, passage.”

Transmission can be reduced, or stopped, when light is reflected off the surface or absorbed by the molecules in the material.
Here are some examples:
1. when something travels over cable wires to get to its destination.
2. When UV light falls on any matter , the electron in the ground state of that matter excited to the higher electronic excited state . . .

When electron at higher state comes back to the ground state it transmits energy in the form of photon.
