Examples of the matter which are available in different states, are as follows -

• The water (H2O) is the most common substance which can be in different physical  states.

- The liquid form of water is simply known as the water which is very common in the room temperature.

- The gaseous form of water is known as the steam, which is observed in 100°C (or more) temperature.

-  The solid form of water is known as the ice, which is observed in 0°C (or less) temperature.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) can also be in three physical states.

- In normal pressure, the carbon dioxide stays in the gaseous state.

- In high pressure, the carbon dioxide stays in the liquid state.

- By special process, we can also obtain the solid form of the carbon dioxide which is popularly known as the dry ice.
