It is friend as it help object to run smoothly on the smooth surface and it is foe as it provide resistance to the object on rough surface

FRIEND:
1 It helps in construction of buildings.
2 It helps in walking on the ground.
FOE:
1 soles of shoe and tyres of vehicles wear out due to friction.
2 friction can also produce heat. so it can damage the machines.
