Law of segregation is one of the principles from Gregor Medel's law of inheritance.

It basically justifies that the allele pairs that are inherited from the parents are segregated only to unite again randomly during fertilisation. This law was formed due to the monohybrid cross experiments.

The concepts show that genes cane exist in two or more forms and can inherit two allels of each trait.

And when two allele pairs are formed, one of them is dominant and other is recessive.

Mendelian inheritance is a type of biological inheritance that follows the principles originally proposed by Gregor Mendel in 1865 and 1866, re-discovered in 1900 and popularized by William Bateson. These principles were initially controversial.
