First it traps the insect inside its leaves, and then lets out a liquid that helps digest thetrapped animal. The plant consumes the insect and takes the nitrogen from the insect's body. The Venus flytrap makes sugar by photosynthesis. The insects give it nutrients which it cannot get from the waterlogged soil.

∆ Venus fly trap is also known as Dionea.

∆ In Dionea leaf modification can be seen.

∆ In this plant the leaf lower part of the petiole is modified into phyllode for photosynthesis and upper part of the petiole modified into tendril & the leaf lamina is modified into pitcher.

∆ Pitcher is covered by the lid. The lid has nectar and it attracts the insects.

∆ When the insects came they get trapped into the picther.

∆ The plant digest the insects and take the nitrogen.

∆ This is the small information about Venus fly trap (or) Dionea.

∆ BE BRAINLY.
