Answer:

Biodegradable polymers:-

1. Polymer which get Disintegration by Enzyme, Microbial like bacteria, water partition and something by oxidation this polymer called as biodegradable polymer.

2. Biodegradable polymer active with environmental reactions.

3. This polymers are recyclable so we can use it in life required substance.

4. Some aliphatic substance's used as monomer to make biodegradable polymer.

5. Ex. Hydroxybutyric acid-co-β-hydroxyvaleric acid(PHBV), polyglycholic acid(PGA), polylectic acid(PLA).

Nonbiodegradable polymers:-

1. Polymer which not Disintegration by Enzyme, Microbial like bacteria, water partition and something by oxidation this polymer called as non-biodegradable polymer.

2. Non-biodegradable polymer are Inactive with environmental reactions.

3. This polymers are unrecyclable so we can't use it in life required substance in second time. So it creats Serious problem in environment.

4. This polymer are not simply Disintegration so problems creat after it's use. and result is environmental problems like global worming.

5. Ex. Polythene, polystyrene, pvc, tephlon, butyl rubber, nylon-6, nylon-6,6, Bakelite, malemite etc.

Answer:

Biodegradable polymers:-

  • We have observed the biodegradable wastes.
  • We know that these wastes decompose after a certain period of time.
  • The solid substances present in these compounds which can be decomposed by microorganisms are called biodegradable polymers.

Non biodegradable polymers:-

  • The solid substances which cannot be decomposed by microorganisms are called as non biodegradable polymers.

Five differences:-

  1. Biodegradable polymers can be decomposed easily under aerobic or anaerobic conditions but non biodegradable polymers can't be decomposed.
  2. Biodegradable polymers contain mostly food particles or fibres which can be decomposed easily but non biodegradable polymers contain long chain of carbon and hydrogen atoms which are difficult to decompose.
  3. The bond of biodegradable polymers is weak but that of non biodegradable polymers is strong.
  4. Biodegradable polymers take a very short time to decompose (4-5days) but non biodegradable polymers take a very long time to decompose (10-15 years or more)
  5. Examples of biodegradable polymers:- PHB , nylon 2- nylon 6

Examples of non biodegradable

polymers:- polythene , teflon.
