1) the constituents of a compound can't be separated by the physical methods whereas constituents of mixture can be separated.
2)the constituents of a compound do not exhibit their properties whereas the constituents of a mixture exhibit their properties.
3)energy is usually absorbed or given away during the formation of a compound and in mixture energy is neither given away nor absorbed.
4)a compound has definite composition and a mixture has variable composition
5)a compound has a fixed melting point and boiling point and a mixture exhibit variable melting and boiling point.
