Five real life examples of angles are Kite, Pencil, A clock, Roof of a house and a Bird.

Angles :

• When two rays or line segments meet at a common point an angle is formed, the symbol of angle is ∠

• The common point of the two rays or line segment is known as vertex

• A protractor is an instrument used to measure angles. It is in the shape of a semicircle and is divided into 180 parts. It has two scales marked from 0° to 180°. The upper scale from 0° to 180° is read from left to right and the lower scale is read from right to left. The line joining the zero of each side is the base line

• There are 6 types of Angles :-

(i) Right Angle - Exactly 90°

(ii) Acute Angle - More than 0° but less than 90°

(iii) Obtuse Angle - More than 90° but less than 180°

(iv) Straight Angle - Exactly 180°

(v) Complete Angle - Exactly 360°
