1.A clear pool of water always appears to be shallower than it actually is.
2.A coin placed at the bottom of beaker containing water seems ti be raised.
3.The sun appears flattened at the time of sun set and sun rise
4.Twinkling of stars is due to the refraction of light
5.Optical illusions such as mirage and looming are also produced due to refraction of light

TheTitanium: instead of the third: the sun appears to be flattened while sun set and sun rise, write the first of the second answer: A straight stick (or pencil) which is immersed partly in water always looks to be bent at the surface of water, because the light coming from the stick (or pencil) bends when it comes out at the surface due to refraction of light.
