Ever since the discovery of the remains of Rajasaurus Narmadensis, Narmada Valley is slowly emerging as the pre-historic stomping ground of a variety of species of dinosaurs. And the latest discovery brings this fossil-rich region of Madhya Pradesh right amidst rare global sites where remains of flying dinosaurs have been found.

Dinosaur fossils with a wing-span of 30 feet have been found near Northern banks of the river, some 25 km from Udaipura town in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. The site near an old Siddhanath Ghat in Thala Dighavan village has hundreds of fossilised remains of different species of dinosaurs, including land-dwelling creatures some of which are almost 115 feet long. The team of local archaeologists led by Rajiv Choubey that made the discovery now wants the state government to declare the entire area protected so that excavations could be carried out and the significance of the finds can be further established.
