Give four precautions to be followed while studying 'dependence of current on potential difference.'
Answers
The Safety measures to be taken while studying ' the dependence of current on potential difference' are as given below,
1=> The Ampere Meter/ Ammeter should be connected with the resistor in the series such that the current enters the positive terminal and emits at the negative terminal of the ammeter.
2=> Connection should be firm (compact) or else some external resistance may insert in the circuit.
3=> Voltmeter should always be added in parallel to the resistor.
4=> Connection wires should have thick copper wire and the insulation of their ends should be eliminated by using the sand paper.
5=> The point of the ammeter and voltmeter should be on the zero point when current is not flowing through the circuit, If not, ask your guide to correct it.
6=> While taking readings, the current should be passed through the circuit for a short period of time; or else It may results in production of unnecessary heat in the current circuit. These heating of circuit may alter the resistance of heat resistors.

While doing the experiment that is:studying the dependence of potential difference across a resistor on the current passing through it and determine its resistance. Also plotting a graph between potential difference and current. Following precautions should be we keep in mind:-)
☆Connection should be tight and clean.
☆Wire should be connected at terminals and not in between.
☆ Clean the wire with Sandpaper.
☆Voltmeter and ammeter should be a proper range.
☆ Connecting wire should be of negligible resistance.
☆The key should be inserted only while taking readings.
