Functions of vacuole are:

• Vacuoles help the cell to remain turgid.

• They play an important role in growth by helping in the elongation of cells.

• They provide a watery environment for the accumulation and storage of water-soluble compound (sugar, minerals, pigments, etc.).

• In protozoans, like Amoeba and Paramecium, vacuoles help in getting rid of body wastes.
