Give geographical reason

1- buildings collapsed at foothills of the
Himalaya because of an earthquake.
Before collapsing they moving
Forward and backward

I guess the earthquake which was caused due to the movement of tectonic plates was a bit severe it was like a tremor I guess so there was a short interval and then a tremor came so this might be a geographical reason and also that the earthquake was at the foothills of The Himalayas so there was gravity pulling the buildings to the front and the earthquake's force to the back or vice-versa.
