Give geographysical reason why mawsynam receive height rainfall in the world

I was there and this is because mawsyram is surrounded by three majors hills which trapped the comming clouds in between them so that place receives highest rainfall.

Mawsynaram is located in southern slopes of Khasi hills. (Meghalaya) and is enclosed by hills on 3 sides. The relief features give it a funnel shaped location. So the Bay of Bengal branch gets trapped here. The clouds have to become lighter in order to pass above these hills so they shed a lot of rain . So maysranam recieves highest rainfall in the world
