hey mate by the James Watson and F. C.H . crick proposed the most accepted model of dna in 1953. It explain all the properties equivalence rule, semi conservative replication and it's role in heredity. MAIN FEATURE OF DNA MODEL ARE:
it is formed of two right handed polynicleotide chains which form a double helix.
each polynicleotide chain is formed of large number of nucleotide which are interlinked by 5'-3' phosphorescent bond.
dna has a shallow groove of about 12 angstrom across a major groove of about 22 angstrom across.
dna molecule is a regular molecule with a uniform diameter of about 20 angstroms .
dna helix Complete a turn by every 34 angstrom (3.4 nm) and since the internucleotide distance is 3.4 angstroms.
each base pair is rotated about 36 degree around the axis of the helix in relation to next base pair .
