Explanation:

1-At night when we enter a dark room we are not able to see anything as soon as we switch on a bulb or a tube light we are able to see everything around us water labels us to see things around when a bulb or tubelight is switched on we we need light to see things around us An object that gives us light is called a source of light these are of two types luminous object and non luminous object 1-luminous -an object that give out its own light is called a luminous object like sun star burning candle 2-Non luminous object-an object that does not give out light of its own is called a luminous object like people animals bird plant and chairs.

2-Shadow-a shadow is a dark patch formed behind an opaque object when it blocks the path of light coming from any source of light an opaque substance on which a shadow is formed is called as screen.

3-shadows are formed when object block oncoming light as light rays travels from the point source and strikes an opaque objectthe light rays do not travel through the object. there there is a area behind the object where the light rays do not reach, and this is where the dark Shadow forms.

4-a shadow is actually just a spacewhere there is not light a sincecand opaque object is blocking the lightif it is point source of light then it form simple shadow called an umbra it is an extended light source, the shadow is divided into the umbra, penumbra and atumbra.

Answer:

Light or visible light is electromagnetic radiation within the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be perceived by the human eye. Visible light is usually defined as having wavelengths in the range of 400–700 nm, or 4.00 × 10⁻⁷ to 7.00 × 10⁻⁷ m, between the infrared and the ultraviolet.

A point source of light casts only a simple shadow, called an "umbra". For a non-point or "extended" source of light, the shadow is divided into the umbra, penumbra, and antumbra. The wider the light source, the more blurred the shadow becomes.
