Step-by-step explanation:

If P is equidistant from A and B, then P is midpoint of line AB.

  => P = [{  (a+b)+(a-b)/2  } , {  (b-a)+(a+b)/2  }]

     = (x, y) = (2a/2 , 2b/2)

        x = 2a/2   &     y = 2b/2

        x = a       &      y = b

Therefore, bx = ay   b is nothing but y and a is nothing but x
