-v÷u=m
height of image ÷ height of object= m
m=-1 signifies that the image is real , inverted and same size of the object. concave mirror produce image of same size when object is at centre of curvature.

Explanation:

  • The mathematical formula for determining the magnification produced by the spherical mirror is given by :

m=\dfrac{-v}{u}=\dfrac{h'}{h}

v is image distance

u is object distance

h' is height of image

h is height of object

  • Magnification, m = -1 signifies the formed image is real, inverted and of the same size as that of the object.
  • Since, convex mirrors produce erect and diminished images and a concave mirror can form both erect and inverted images. So, the mirror is concave mirror.
