Advantages are many. I'll try and list down some -
1. it is very well connected. u can get from one end of Delhi NCR to another very easily.
2. it is cheap and if u take the metro card, it's cheaper
3. with a separate ladies coach, you will always be secure. even if you are not in the ladies coach, there is security at every metro station and also an emergency button at the door.
4. In the summers you have the air conditioning and in the winters, the metro is nice and warm
5. No stress. You aren't driving, you aren't stuck in traffic. You can spend your time productively -read books, complete assignments, catch up with friends on the phone, take a nap and more
6. Saves time. I travel on a route that is about 18kms. It takes me 30 minutes by metro and takes me an hour if I drive (in case of traffic it's taken me 2 hours also)
7. Saves your fuel expenses
8. Timings are always fixed. Except days where there is a glitch -but that's very rare.
9. It's neat and clean
10. Provides the maximum amount of entertainment- whether it's the aunty who is sitting next to you and gossiping or the random uncle who gives gyan or the couple in the corner giving each other loving looks, you will see a lot and never be bored.

Reliable, safe, world class, clean and Value for money. This is perhaps the best value for Money service in India and probably in world.
Security is good as it is managed by CISF. Only drawback is theft related incidents are under jurisdiction of Delhi Police-which at times is pathetic!
