Chanakya was the advisor of Chandragupta Maurya. He was also a teacher, jurist, economist and philospher.

He played prominent role in foundation of Mauryan Empire. In addition to being the chief advisor to Chandragupta Maurya, he also served Bindusara as a chief advisor.

He was also the mentor of The Great Ashoka who later on turned out to be one of the most successful and famous king in the history of India.

Chanakya provided the world with two very important works of him one being Arthashastra which deals with monetary and fiscal policies, welfare, international relations and war strategies in detail. The other book being Chanakya-Neeti which is a collection of aphorisms selected by him from various Shastras.
