Heredity - it refers to the transmission of characters are trade from parent to their offsprings. it is the continuity of features from one generation to another which are present in fertilized egg or zygote. the zygote develops into an organism of a particular type only.
Genes - it is the branch of Biology which deals with heredity and variation. Genetics is to help our understanding and heredity by knowing how of a spring inherit characteristic from their parents.
Variation - it means the difference in the characters among the individual of a species.
Causes of variation :-
1. different combination of a genetic material.
2. some positive gene mutation .
3. interaction of gene with environmental changes.
Importance of variation:-
1. IT form with the basis of heredity.
2. it cause adaptation due to which organism can easily adjust with changing environment.
3. accumulation of variation form the basis of evolution.
Genotype - the genetic constitution of an organism is called genotype.
Phenotype - the appearance of organism is called a phenotype.
Gene - basic unit of heredity which contain chromosome is called gene.
