Full name of Alla Rakha Khan is Ustad Allarakha Qureshi. He was born in 29 April 1919 and he died in 3 February 2000. He used to play classical Hindustani music. He used to do debuts with Ravi Shankar. He was a sitar play but Alla Rakha was known for his mesmerizing tabla playing. He started his career in Lahore eventually went to Bombay to play at the All India radio station.

It was due to his efforts his instrument Abbaji got popularity worldwide. Alla Rakha recieved Padma Shri and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award due to his efforts for music.
