We can derive this simply by the Identity

(a + b)²

We know that (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab

So simply putting it as

(x +  \frac{1}{x} ) {}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  + 2 \times x \times  \frac{1}{x}
=>
(x +  \frac{1}{x} ) {}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  + 2

So this is the outcome.

You have to just remember the formula of
(a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab

In case it is ( x - 1/x) then apply

(a - b)² = a² + b² - 2ab

Therefore
(x -  \frac{1}{x})  {}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  - 2
hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️
