if a/b is a rational number such that a<b, then a/b will be always because as a< b so , we cannot cancel the fraction form . for eg. if we take 2 as a and 4 as b then the fraction is 2/4=1/2 . the denominator will not come as 1 as it is greater than numerator. whereas numerator can come 1.
