He doesn't wanted to miss his chance to be the emperor of Rome, also even when Calpurnia revealed about her dream, he was convinced by Brutus. But his decision has took his own life in the capitol.

Caesar feels that calpurnia's dream has been misinterpreted by her. He finds Decius Brutus interpretation of it more convincing and goes to the Senate house . His robe is pierced through and he is brutally assassinated there by the conspirators led by Cassius. Hence , his words proved to be ironical
