Let we take two equations,
2x+3y-4 = 0
4x+ 8y-14 = 0

To solve the equation,
     x       y       1
3      -4       2      3
8     -14      4      8

$\frac{x}{3(-14)-8(-4)}$ = $\frac{y}{-4(4)-(-14)(2)}$ = $\frac{1}{2(8)-4(3)}$

$\frac{x}{-42+32}$ = $\frac{y}{-16+28)}$ = $\frac{1}{16-12}$

$\frac{x}{-10}$ = $\frac{y}{12)}$ = $\frac{1}{4}$

x = -10/4      and     y = 12/3
x = -5/2        and     y = 4

It is one of the easiest method to solve the linear equations.
