Mauryans mainly fallowed the centralized administration... the powers are mainly concentrated at the central level..

For the convince of the administration mauryans divided the empire in to provinces. The head of the province is Governer or Kumara. Kumara should be from royal family or he should be the son of the king.

1. Northern province - Taxila

2. Southern province - suvaranasiri

3.Eastern province - Toshali.

4.western province - ujjain

5. central province - pataliputra.
