In comprehesion passage there are very few tips like
answer to the point 
don't overdo it 
know the marks distribution so that you can answer precisely 
letter
learn the formats well and good 
don't fill irrelevant stuffs in the letter 
try writing in small and precise paragraphs 
don't forget to write the subject if its an formal letter
*short letters are also ok but formats carry huge amount of marks 
dairy
start with dear dairy and mention the date and day when you are writing the dairy .
*body you can stuff in anything but try keeping it short and write to the topic .
