1- the poet meets a hawker,a gardener and a watchman. the hawker creid "bangles crystal bangles,in the afternoon when he returned to home from school,he saw gardener digging the ground,and at night he saw through the window from his bed a watchman,walking on the street.

2- The child in the poem wants to be a hawker,a gardener and watchman, he wants to be a hawker because he is free to go anywhere he wishes,he also wants to be a gardener,he can be free to go out everytime,and he also wishes to be a watchman because he can roam on the streets in the night.
