{\boxed{\mathfrak{Electrochemical \:Series}}}

⬛The arrangement of elements in order of increasing electrode potential values is called electrochemical series .

{\bold{\underline{Applications }}}→:

To determine the relative strength of oxidizing and reducing agent . The substance that has a lower electrode potential are strong reducing agents and vice versa.

⚫ It is used to find the E.M.F if the cell

E (cell) = E (cathode) - E (anode)

⚫. It is used to predict the feasibility of the reaction . The reaction is feasible if the species having high reduction potential is reduced and the species with lower reduction potential should be oxidized .

⚫. It is used to predict whether a metal can liberate hydrogen gas form an acid or not . Only those Metals what have a negative value of reduction potential can liberate it . Metals like Zinc , Magnesium and Nickel can liberate hydrogen whereas Cooper and Silver cannot.
