first of all magnitude of resultant vector -  √3²+4² ⇒ 5

then as it is in +y direction, so R vector = 5j

now, B vector + C vector= R vector

⇒( xi+yj) +(3i+4j) = 5j

⇒xi+ yj = -3i+ 1j

hence b= 3(-i) + j
