Explanation:

Difference between hypertonic, hypotonic, isotonic solutions is:

Hypertonic Solution:

• A solution having more concentration of the solutes with respect to the other solution is called as hypertonic solution.

• When the eukaryotic cells are keep in the hypotonic solution (dilute solution), the water molecules will go into cell and the cells will swell up due to endosmosis.

(ii) Hypotonic Solution:

A solution having more concentration of solvent with respect to other solutions is called as hypotonic solution.

• When eukaryotic cells are keep in hypertonic solution (concentrated solution), water molecules will move out of cell and cell will shrink due to the exosmosises.

(iii) Isotonic Solution:

Isotonic solution, the water molecule will neither go out or will not go inside, hence the amount of the water molecule remain the same. The cell will remain same.

• When eukaryotic cells are keep in Isotonic Solutions that have exactly in same water concentration with respect to other solution, is called as isotonic solution.
