Stephen William Hawking was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author who was director of research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge. He was born on 8th January 1942 in Oxford, England. In 1963, Hawking was diagnosed with an early-onset slow-progressing form of motor neurone disease (MND) that gradually paralysed him over the decades. At age 21, while studying cosmology at the University of Cambridge, he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).He also worked with space-time singularities.He was awarded by Presidential Medal of Freedom, Wolf Prize in Physics, Copley Medal, Elbert Einstein Award, Hughes Medal, Addington Medal, etc. He was died on 14th March 2018 in Cambridge United Kingdom.
