Not in all, but many haploid fungi and algae have a temporary diploid stage in their life cycle from the fusion of two cells produced by mitosis. These fused cells are obviously diploid, and will then undergo a meiosis. The end result is a sexual spore.

the above given statement is absolutely incorrect

cuz when two gametes gets fertilise they produce zygote which is diploid and it undergo reduction division to produce haploid spores.
