Explanation:

There're three main effects of electric current, heat, magnetic field and chemical. When electric current go throw a wire made of a conducting material (cupper) the wire heats up due to the material's resistivity and the current density.

Charge is closely related to current. The current is constituted by the flow of charge per unit second. The flow of charge produces current and thus a high heating effect which can can damage the wire and heat up the surrounding and even cause fire.

Current also has a magnetic effect which is dealt by Right hand rule . It explains the formation of magnetic field due to current flowing through a wire and the consequences.
