Give me very short point on biodegradable and non biodegradable

Biodegradable are those materials which decomposes by themselves when kept for a some time.eg fruit peels. Non biodegradable are those materials which decomposes by long time.eg plastic materials.

1.biodegradable=these are degraded by our environment and don't cause pollution.
2.non- biodegradable=they are not degraded by our environment and so cause pollution.
