multiply both the side by x

6x^2-2=1x

6x^2-1x-2=0

6x^2-4x+3x-2=0

2x(3x-2)+1(3x-2)=0

(3x-2)(2x+1)=0

3x-2=0 or 2x+1=0

3x=2 or 2x= -1

x=2/3 or x = -1/2
