Short circuit

Whenever live and neutral wires come in contact with each other, the incident is called short circuiting. In this case, resistance of a circuit decreases to a very small value. The decreasing of resistance increases the current. To avoid this fire, we use an electric fuse in the circuit.

Overloading

An electric overload occurs when too much current passes through electric wires. The wires heat and can melt, with the risk of starting a fire. Avoid plugging several power-hungry items of equipment into the same line.
