In a displacement reaction, an element is displaced(removed) from its salt solution by another element (which is more reactive).EXAMPLE:

Fe + CuSO4→ FeSO4 + Cu

In a decomposition reaction,an element decomposes/is reduced to two or more substances. Example;

2 H2O2 → 2 H2O + O2
