Give one example each to show that the rational numbers are closed under addition,subtraction,multiplication. Are rational numbers closed under division?give two examples in support of your answer

Answer:

(a/b )+(c/d)= (ad+bc)/bd

(a/b )-(c/d)= (ad-bc)/bd

(a/b )*(c/d)= ac/bd

(a/b )/(c/d)= ad/bc

now for above case if c=0 then ad/bc will become infinity.i.e. not a rational number.
