(a) There are many ways of turning kinetic energy into thermal energy, in fact it's almost impossible not to do so. A match being struck against the striker converts kinetic energy into heat which goes on to light the match. A car braking will convert the vehicle's kinetic energy into heat in the braking system.

(b) There are many ways of turning kinetic energy into thermal energy, in fact it's almost impossible not to do so. (c) A device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy is called an electrical motor.

(d) The battery stores electrical potential energy when the electrons move from the cathode to the anode. It's how the battery is charged. When the electrons move in another direction, they convert this chemical potential energy to electricity in the circuit, thus discharging the battery.
