Explanation:

  • Various countries broke and made new alliances with the USA or Russia.
  • The world was divided into the eastern and western bloc.
  • During world war 1, the USA and Russia fought to beat Germany.
  • However, after that, the USA broke its alliance with Russia due to communism.

The system of alliances consists of nations uniting or working together to meet a certain objective. The explanation for the alliances is that the other nation or nation will assist them out if they are in distress. The alliances were established secretly most of the time. Later in public, they were announced.

Explanation:

  • The People's Republic in China (PRC) and the USSR are both communist and have good ties with both of them. The two countries were well linked. Further splits and crackdowns were soon emerging in the alliances, as Communist China fought in the late 1950's with Soviet Union and, in the year 1969, fought a short war against a territorial strife.
  • The Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship , Cooperation and Mutual Assistance was a cooperation agreement concluded between the People's Republic of China (PRC) & the USSR on 14 February 1950. To Treaty covered Soviet rights in Xinjiang and Manchuria. In particular China was to get back  the Chinese East Railway & Dalian & Lushun ports. One of its key issues was to provide a 300 million dollars USSR loan to the PRC that has suffered over a decade of serious war logistically.& economically.
  • Nevertheless, in the late 1950s – the early 1960s,  the Treaty did not stop relationships between Beijing & Moscow from dramatically worsening, during the Sino-Soviet breakup. The Chinese-Soviet split (1960-1989) was an era when the PR China-Soviet Union relations collapsed at the time of the Cold War. Chinese leader Mao Zedong finally decided to severe the Soviet Union alliance.
  • Stalin, the Soviet leader, wanted to spread communism throughout the world, which included China. The Soviets provided supplies & arms  to the Kuomintang during the Second Sino-Japanese War & advised the Communists to ally them against the Japanese Empires. But the civil war in China continued. Stalin and the Soviet Union supported the Communists after the Second World War. Chinese leaders were unhappy about Soviet leaders' failure to help Mao and Communists from the beginning.
  • In 1953, Stalin died unexpectedly. Mao saw Stalin as the communist leader, and during his time as head had poor ties with the Soviet Union. Nikita Khrushchev, the new Soviet leader, was not like Stalin. He did not want the fall of capitalism, as Stalin did. Mao became furious, & he wanted Nikita Khrushchev to assist the imperialists battle him. Khrushchev said no, so Mao agreed to avoid collaborating with each other, if Chrushchev did not cooperate.  Later, between the Soviet Union and China there was peace, but they constantly blamed each other.
