Positive work done: When an object is free-falling, the work done by gravity is positive as direction of force and displacement are the same.
Negative work done: When an object is thrown upwards, negative work is done by gravity as direction of force and displacement are opposite.

Positive work- When a baby is pulling a toy car than the force is being applied on it and the displacement caused by force, is in the direction of the force, so it is positive work.
Negative work- When we draw water bucket from the wall then the force of gravity is applied and pulls the bucket downwards but the displacement is in the upper direction so the displacement is in the opposite direction of the force so the work done is negative.
