Expansion in liquids

When you heat water, it expands. With an adult's assistance, try this. Fill a glass halfway full with water. Fill a jar halfway with water and set it aside to heat (do not boil). Now pour the water into the same glass again. The water level has risen to the point where it is dangerously close to overflowing

Ex -

A good example of liquid thermal expansion in reaction to temperature change is gasoline pumped on a hot day. The gasoline is reasonably chilly when it leaves the underground tank at the gas station, but it will warm up in the tank of a hot automobile.
