Example: A child in a "merry-go-round".

Any particle, if it is in uniform circular motion, has a constant speed but a variable velocity as it's direction is changing. Or, it has an acceleration.

More:-

  • Any particle, if it is in circular motion, will receive a force from the centre, known as centripetal force ("centre-seeking" force).
  • Planets receive centripetal force through their respective stars.
  • C.F. = mv²/r (where a = v²/r).
